Yes, but according to the article, the buyer was told that he had to switch *all three* phone lines to Verizon. As I understand "Triple Play" (which I don't have any personal experience with since DSL isn't even available in my area), you get a "package" discount for buying one phone line, television, and Internet. The buyer was attempting to get FIOS and transfer TWO phone lines, and was told that he couldn't have FIOS unless he transferred his THIRD phone line as well.
If he had wanted the "triple play" discount but refused to buy a single phone line, I'd see your point. But, as I understand "triple play", he more than met the criteria for the discount, even buying one more phone line than he technically needed to.
The original article doesn't actually mention triple play at all, just that the supervisor refused to activate the FIOS *at all* without the transfer of all three phone lines to Verizon. But even if it had been a "triple play" issue, the user more than met the criteria. |
