| Dell XPS M1330 laptop?
After customizing, the price is $1373 before tax and shipping. Is this worth the price? One major reason is because I can get this on my Dell credit line. I like the 13.3 screen size and less than 4 lbs of weight for mobility. Thanks for opinions. Here are the specs:

I'd say it's alright, perhaps some other members can give some better input. |

| That's the best video card available for this model, considered an ultraportable. Less than 4 lbs and really thin. Not planning on doing any hardcore gaming on it, I have a desktop PC for that with an 8800GT -- In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress. - John Adams |

| reply to winterforge is the 8400GS discrete? or shared?
although, unless gaming is an intended use (which is doubtful considering the OP states that mobility is the major concern..) the 8400GS should be adequate imho.
at that price, i would like to see a faster processor, and DDR2 667 seems like an odd choice. why not 800? and... is the 3gb matched for dual-channel?
although, as was mentioned previously, the inclusion of MS Office is a price-factor that i am sure is adding a reasonable sum to the total cost. -- "What happens when the clock reaches 999?"........ "Nothing. You just suck." |

| Yeah the video card is shared to my knowledge. The MS Office is $149 of the cost. The RAM is dual channel. Also got a $50 Netgear router in there as well. |

| It sounds like a decent enough deal to me. The notebook market is getting very competitive now, so there are plenty of good deals out there, and you might quibble on a feature here and there, one way or the other, but it is a nice notebook, with a good feature set...it sounds like you've done your homework as far as the features, form-factor, and planned usage, so I suspect that you will be well-pleased with this.
I do recommend that you try to pay it off while it is within the interest-free time frame, as it is true that if you have to pay it off over time, the total real cost becomes a good bit less attractive. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |

| Thanks all, and yeah I'm going to do my best to pay off the amount in the 12 month no interest period. Dell gets some bad press sometimes, but I have an XPS desktop also and it's been the best computer I've ever had honestly. -- In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress. - John Adams |
