Re: How can I find out if EVDO is available in my area?

I'm guessing you are stuck on finding the letters EVDO? Not necessarily going to find that, but what you care about is whether they have broadband in your area or not.

With Sprint, go to www.sprint.com and click "Coverage" and enter your zip code. On the resulting page you will see voice coverage, but you want to click the bar below voice that says "Data."

You can zoom the map in/out. Orange is EVDO broadband, and Green is 1x, roughly dialup equivalent.

On www.verizon.com click wireless, then "Find coverage in your area", select "Broadband & V Cast" and update. Enter your zip code for a closeup. You want to see Blue.

Keep in mind that there are variables that can affect things, and you may need a good external antenna and/or an amplifier to get a good connection.

I know this isn't satellite-related, but I've seen so many people talk about it. I looked on the Verizon and Sprint websites but saw nothing about EVDO. Where can I go to find out? I really hope I can get it here.
