| Reformating Question Not sure if this is in the right place so, mods feel free to move it.
I want to reformat and don't have my original copy of XP,HOORAY for kids and their curiosity for shiny things ,so i was wondering if i were to put all the files on a separate partition on my HDD, would i be able to reinstall XP from that partition during the format?

| Not going to happen without a CD. You will need to either find a eBay special or if you have an OEM PC (Dell, Gateway/E-Machines, HP/Compaq, Etc) call the manufacturer for a restore CD set.
Now if your PC has the right files on the hard drive, you can create a CD from that, but you will not be able to use the files while on the HD to Format and Reinstall.
»Make your own Windows XP CD.
Why do you think you need to reformat? It is a wives tale that formatting has to be done every so often. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time?
