anon : For now I've knocked the RWIN value down to 84680, which is still giving me ~1.1/1.2 downloads, but everything else works as well.
anon : Nope it's an ADSL2+ service down our phone line. And just downloading a regular file in Firefox (from here: »fuller.zen.co.uk/test/) maxes it out.

I've found that some random requests do succeed, but most not, and some are painfully slow.
[Tweak Test] Tweaking RWIN so I can still use the net?

anon : Hey,
I ran the tweak test, here's my results:
»/tweakr/block:···ia=pppoA

I set the RWIN value in windows to the lowest of the recommended range (115340), as I didn't really know what number to pick. It worked very well, but, almost too well. I have a 12mb ADSL connection, and I can now happily download at that rate.

However, when I do, all the time it's downloading everything else (network related) stops, web pages wont load, attempts to log into the router time out etc. Either my network adapter or the router can't handle it.

Is there a way that I can further optimise it so that it downloads as fast as possible, but I can also use the network for other things at the same time?

Thanks,
Jack
