Re: [Modem] Netopia 3347 DSL Modem Config..

Whoops, got the firmware wrong. The whole consumer/business interface split started with 7.4.2rx and now the firmware is up to 7.6.1r6. When you look at the Netopia interface now is the model 3347NWG or 3347-02-1006?

I'm trying to figure out if the problems I ran into before was just a few defective 3347-02-1006s or if they've fixed the problem entirely. Over the last week, I've had at least 6 issues where a business customer was getting the consumer interface and couldn't do anything with their static ips. I'm crossing my fingers that either it was random and sending them a new one will fix it or that AT&T fixed the problem.

The firmware in the netopia 3347 has been upgraded to have two different interfaces based on the email address that you enter. For bellsouth.net addresses, it is supposed to default to the business interface (that's the one with the LAN and WAN options in expert mode) 7.4.2r2. For all other addresses, @att.net, etc it defaults to the consumer interface, 7.4.2r3.

However, I've found that even when one is a business customer with a @bellsouth.net address entered, the Netopia 3347-02-1006 will still bring up the consumer interface which means you cannot properly configure the netopia for multiple static ips.

If you have a single static ip address, this is fine because no configuration is needed for that beyond the username and password, so if you are able to surf, you are good to go.

If you have multiple static ips with this new interface, it is unlikely you'll be able to configure them properly. You can still configure the ip range into the DHCP server and set the LAN IP of the netopia, but there is no feature that I've found with this interface that will allow to to expose the addresses, which is required to be able to remotely access devices configured with those static ips.

How many ip addresses do you have and what are you trying to do with them?
That seems like old firmware, my 3347 is using 7.6.1r6.
