may i ask, what vpn software/router are you using? as far as i have experienced, you cannot force it through the IE, but possible on the endpoint, like your PC's on software or the router you are connecting to?

You can use the hosts file on the PC to achieve what you want. You can do the same thing at router level if your router supports a hosts file.
