| Re: RE Sorry for being off topic but, I just noticed your avatar. I watched EFC all the time when it was on. I have I believe Season 3 on DVD, haven't gotten S4 or 5 and cannot find Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. The Taelons were cool. LOL...anyway, back to topic....
I recently used AT&T and was not happy with their network performance. They definitely had some capacity issues. I wonder if it was the fault of the iPhone.

EDGE has sped up some, but it is still very slow. There is no 3G coverage here, so...I cannot comment on that, but from what I know of the build out, they are focusing on major metropolitan areas first.
People who already purchased an iPhone also, I think, will not be purchasing the new device whenever the launch date for the new device is. Hopefully, this time, instead of having people in lines, they will just sell it like a regular phone.
Off topic, you can find all that EFC stuff on-line; just gotta know where to look as S1 and S2 were not released because a different company, to my understanding, produced them.
The new iPhone is just another way for Apple to rape money out of its users. They released one in '07, and now in '08 they have released another, and unless they found a way to improve the battery life, I do not think it will be worth the money. You can barely use the EDGE version as the battery life is pathetic.

1 edit | Re: RE Off topic.....I know where I can get the other two seasons. Its too bad Seasons 1 and 2 were never released.
I live in Seattle which is a major metro market. It is a 3G market. The phones I had were 3G and the performance for voice sucked pretty bad. It look a long time for a call to connect if it would go through at all. Although, I do believe the latter part is capacity issues on the receiving end's carrier too. The data portion was ok though. I couldn't get used to the lag in call connections and call drops so I left AT&T.

| WTH are you talking about. iPhone battery life is FANTASTIC. Way beyond anything I've ever used before. Including Motorola's, LG, Nokia, Samsung. Including BlkJack, Razr, Shine, N65, Blackberry and several other run of the mill standard every things the same pieces of junk.
I have used my iPhone on a 8 hour flight to EU and watched 2 full movies, Listen to few dozen songs, Browsing pics. Landed, used it to make couple dozen calls, map, checking and responding to dozens of emails will in cab. Updated sales charts at web server. Got to hotel, took lots of pics and emailed them to wife. Got caught in a SMS chat session for hour or so back and forth. Forgot to plug in phone and fell asleep. Next morning, still 1/4 charge.
Stop making crap up. iPhone battery life is unbelievably good

Perhaps you should research (Google) iPhone battery life before you start to speak about things you know absolutely nothing about. Since your "anonymous" I will take what you say with a grain of salt.

| I recently received a Blackjack from my employer with 3G data capabilities and I am not impressed at all. When trying to make voice calls, it will only actually dial 25% of the time. The other 75% of the time it will just stop attempting to dial... no noise or notice that it didn't do what you just told it to do.
The data is slow. I would not call it broadband at all. Horrid lag, it takes 7 - 8 seconds for a website to even be found, then another 7 - 8 seconds for it to load. That's even when you have it tethered to a laptop.
Wireless data still has a LOOONG way to go before I would call it "broadband" with a straight face.

1 edit | Re: RE Lock ups That's why I went with Blackberry 8830. It is the ONLY converged device I ever had that actually would not lock up as you described. Palms and Win Mobiles seem to have issues when it comes to balancing the load when using wireless sync email, cal, contacts and incoming or outgoing calls. I had about 25% lock ups on those platforms.
The problem with Blackberry, was you had to invest $3000 in their Enterprise Blackberry software (supports 1000 users). Not any more! They now have a free download of the server that comes with 1 user license. Additional licenses are like $10. I have been using my 8830 for a month and have had NO lockups! I have factory bluetooth handsfree in my car and added a bluetooth stereo adapter to my car. I can talk and play music wirelessly! Who needs an iphone? Not to bash it - I think the iphone is cool. However, if it has lock ups - it is useless for me. Any actual users (no fanboys allowed) who have real experience using enterprise syncing? Are there lockups with iPhone??

| Re: RE Lock ups I appreciate the advice. I will see if my company will let me expense a new phone... this Blackjack is killin' me! I'd say about 50% of calls that go over 4 minutes are dropped, which is quite often since I troubleshoot support issues over the phone to see if I can solve it before I walk my ass over. I think I may start logging the number of dropped calls. | |
