3g Battery Life

I have an HTC 3g device and my biggest problem with it is that it SUCKs battery life. I wonder if Apple has fixed it.

Also I can tell you that I go through at least four times as much data usage as the 100 megs listed.

Purportedly the reason Apple has made us all wait this long for a 3G iphone is the battery suckage you refer to. So, I would assume they've resolved the issue in some manner.

If they allowed replaceable batteries, then you could charge 1 offline while using 1. And that would end the battery problem.

True, but I had two batteries for my 3G blackjack. I never had the discipline to keep them both charged or carry them both with me. They eventually "solved" that issue with an expanded battery pack, and life was good again. So I see charging up dual batteries as more of a workaround than a solution.

The current iPhone's battery life is more than adequate for me. It just needs to stay strong in the 3g incarnation.
