Covad 7/1 line - very often very slow

Hi there,
We're using a Covad 7/1MBit DSL line w/ static IP in our NYC/Manhattan office and we're experiencing beside lots of complete connection losses (please reset your router - approx every 2-3 weeks) very often super slow speeds, especially on fridays (the line isn't in use during the weekends, so I have no compare values for the weekend days right now).
Measuring the speed via speedtest.net I'll get especially at the end of the weeks a very low performance (sometimes just 600KBit dn/100KBit up) even for NYC-NYC tests. Is this known already? Can you suggest me a DSL alternative for Manhattan/NYC? I've lost my hope in Covad for NYC/Manhattan and would like to get something stable in there.
Please help, any hint appreciated!
Cheers,
Elstyr

check out Bandwidth.com also, Verizon FIOS is currently being offered in NYC. You should call and check the availibility. It could be up to 20 times faster than what you have now
