Re: sorry about the length... I believe that there are two things that should be done as soon as possible. One: Adjustable Rate Mortgages for homes should be banned, as should balloon payments, etc. Only simple interest loans should be allowed. Two: No one should be allowed to borrow more than 90 percent of the selling price of a home. Period. If those two rules had been in effect, the mortgage crisis would not have happened. Far fewer people would have been able to buy a home, but would that be so bad? At least, would it not be better than millions going into foreclosure?
