The only ones that are soldered in are the Nano, Touch/Phone.  The rest you can replace relatively easily.  And there are plenty of places that will do it for you if you're not handy.<br><br>And I'd imagine there will be companies that will do this for you with the Touch/Phone shortly.<br><br>I'd never worry about the battery life - for every cell I've replaced batteries in - usually another month or 2 later I'm replacing it anyway so it's a no brainer.<br><br>I'd rather have the goodness of the iPhone vs the POS that is Win mobile or the orphaned thing that is Palm OS (I've got a Treo 650 now).]]></description>

It is the ONLY converged device I ever had that actually would not lock up as you described.  Palms and Win Mobiles seem to have issues when it comes to balancing the load when using wireless sync email,cal,contacts and incoming or outgoing calls.  I had about 25% lock ups on those platforms.<br><br>The problem with Blackberry, was you had to invest $3000 in their Enterprise Blackberry software (supports 1000 users).  Not any more! They now have a free download of the server that comes with 1 user license.  Additional licenses are like $10.  I have been using my 8830 for a month and have had NO lockups!  I have factory bluetooth handsfree in my car and added a bluetooth stereo adapter to my car.  I can talk and play music wirelessly!  Who needs an iphone?  ;)  Not to bash it - I think the iphone is cool.  However, if it has lock ups - it is useless for me.   Any actual users (no fanboys allowed) who have real experience using enterprise syncing?  Are there lockups with iPhone??]]></description>

When trying to make voice calls, it will only actually dial 25% of the time. The other 75% of the time it will just stop attempting to dial... no noise or notice that it didn't do what you just told it to do.<br><br>The data is slow. I would not call it broadband at all. Horrid lag, it takes 7 - 8 seconds for a website to even be found, then another 7 - 8 seconds for it to load. That's even when you have it tethered to a laptop.<br><br>Wireless data still has a LOOONG way to go before I would call it "broadband" with a straight face.]]></description>

It look a long time for a call to connect if it would go through at all. Although, I do believe the latter part is capacity issues on the receiving end's carrier too.  The data portion was ok though.  I couldn't get used to the lag in call connections and call drops so I left AT&T.]]></description>

There is no 3G coverage here, so...I cannot comment on that, but from what I know of the build out, they are focusing on major metropolitan areas first.<br><br>People who already purchased an iPhone also, I think, will not be purchasing the new device whenever the launch date for the new device is. Hopefully, this time, instead of having people in lines, they will just sell it like a regular phone.<br><br>Off topic, you can find all that EFC stuff on-line; just gotta know where to look as S1 and S2 were not released because a different company, to my understanding, produced them.<br><br>The new iPhone is just another way for Apple to rape money out of its users. They released one in '07, and now in '08 they have released another, and unless they found a way to improve the battery life, I do not think it will be worth the money.
