| WImax Unplugged - Rogers vs Bell - Seasonal Disconnect
I read the interesting thread at »WiMax Unplugged Speed vs Rogers
I would like to use one at my Cottage in Muskoka, Ontario. I've confirmed service is available from both providers.
I'm now trying to figure out which is better for seasonal shutdown. I'm looking for the basic service from each.
Bell says my service can be suspended for $10/month. I don't believe I have this cost associated with ExpressVu when I suspend it. I can also go to a no contract service which is about $5 more per month. I was told there is no new activation charge when I reactivate it. I am a bit dubious of this statement. The rep could not send me an email confirmation on that point and I have not seen it in any documentation.
Rogers will suspend for $3.95/month. I can also cancel it and reactivate in the spring but may have to pay the activation fee if there is no promotion on.
My take at the moment that Rogers, which is cheaper, and according to the threads I've read, more conservative on their estimates, seems to the best way to go.
Looking for anyone else's experience since I have a lot of Bell services already.
Thanks |

join:2007-11-28 | the wimax service is being put up by rogers and bell together, so if its offered through one company it will be available with the other. you can be with bell but be connected to a rogers tower, just depends who setup the tower you are one |

| Then you suspend your expressvu its 10$ seasonal disconnect charge and that covers up to 6 months. If you are going through the sympatico unplugged and you are financing for the modem charge then you would pay the modem charge plus the 10$ each month you are on suspension. |

adampak20 Premium join:2007-07-19 Sarnia, ON | That is true, but if you are also Renting To Own the modem from bell then you would have to pay that fee plus the 10$ per month. However if you purchased the modem for a one time fee then it should just be the fee you were quoted. |

| Well, finally got emails from both Rogers and Bell so that I have a paper trail.
Rogers charges $3.95/mth to suspend their service which Bell's charge is $10.00/mth.
Rogers basic service is $27.95/mth while Bell's lowest charge is $35/mth in a bundle otherwise $40/mth. |
