I like the Speedstream 4100 because it gives TCP 'ack' packets priority. Don't want a modem that fails to do that again. I have an Alcatel from BellSouth as my backup, but it doesn't prioritize ack packets. It'll get me on the net in a pinch, but I would still wind up replacing it with a modem that prioritizes ack packets.
