Any ideas how to Do MLPP ? with xp?

No idea how to do it with XP, sorry. I know with BSD or Linux it should just be a matter of setting up regular MLPPP but pointing both links at the same ethernet interface, thus creating two PPPoE sessions through the same modem.

XP won't let you startup PPPoE twice. I tried this already.

I've heard you can do this with RASPPPoE as opposed to the WinXP PPPoE.

Very Simple:

Get RASPPPoE [ »www.raspppoe.com/ ]
Install it, following their instructions.
When you have the first connection created, test it. Make sure you save the password. Once you confirmed that works, go in the properties and the options tab of the connection. (Disconnect before doing this)

1- Take note of the number being dialed by the connection.
2- Add a checkbox on the 2nd network card you have hooked up to your 2nd line.
3- Check the box that makes all modems dial the same number and enter the number you wrote down in step 1.
4- Change the dial strategy to always dial all devices.

Take off checkmark to prompt username & password.

Set retry dialing to a high number ex. 9999999.
Set retry interval to 3 seconds.

Click ok and test your connection.

It will probably connect but give you a line bundling error. Simply click on accept. Connection icon on lower right in taskbar and open it. Click on the details tab.
You should see on the bottom, a drop down with all your dsl lines and a button that changes between suspend and resume. Find which line failed to bundle and click on resume. If you set the settings the way I set them, it will essentially redial the failed line indefinitely until it connects. At which point you should be in business.

Forgot to add, if you experience bad troughput when doing mlppp on windows, you will probably want to change the mtu of the raspppoe protocol on each of your network adapters to something like 1452. I am still investigating the need for such a low value.

two ways

use linux as host OS and use vmware for your stuff

use linux as a host OS and use another port on router for XP to be on network
aka it uses whatever net is availble
the linux box hten would act like a dchp server and dish out a internal ip for the xp box

im sure someone will clean the idea up
and you can get a cheap 500MHZ box as the linux box and setup MLPPP as the other thread said then just dchp out the internal to the xp box.

I just tested it quickly, It works at least for the download. No change on my upload tho.

Um Vinch I wanted to use 1 modem MLPP sure i won;t get extra speed but i was hoping the packets would confuddle bell further what u suggested is confusing i assume MLpp standard under xp?

I think I may try mlppp on win2k3 again tonight. See if I can make that work. With or without raspppoe.

Well, the good news is that with RASPPPoE, you can have it create multiple modems on the same NIC. So you could effectively follow my instructions and do bonding with a single physical line. That option is in the pppoe protocol on your network adapter. Then you go back to the dialup connection and check off the additional "lines" you added. Should work fine with slightly more overhead... but if it confuses bell's throttling then why not...

Hivolt care to explain Your Setup? and what u did? Like does it use Mlpp with one Link if u click that check or?

and thats with One Line? one Modem? were talking about using MLPP to confuse bell here. or do u have 2 connections?
