Apparently that is not the problem either. I really think it has something to do with the Alltel service as this is the second phone we've tried and we had the issue on our desktop using Vista as well as the laptop running on XP.

Calgary, AB		 Is tethered internet active on your Alltel line? Sometimes companies disable tethering so end users don't run up $15k bills.

Doesn't Alltel have a Data Support line you could call?
