Massive Telus Outage?

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing major Telus outage?

Internet down at my workplace is completely out, (connection through Nucleus which actually routes through Telus...) My relatives telus internet in town is also down, All the Grocery stores in town say their debit machines (which are all connected via High Speed) are not functioning, and my High Speed Server Internet isn't working either. I've tried traceroute to google and I'm getting high pings, and no names are resolving.

Trying to load a website just sits at "Waiting for response" with sometimes the very titlebar loading, but no pages, Telus E-Mail on the other hand still seems to be functioning correctly.

I'm currently connecting via Dialup, because this outage has been lasting about 4+ hours now. :( (It started around 4:00pm and is now 8:30pm)

This happened yesterday too on a slightly smaller scale, only lasting for about an hour or so.

If anyone has ANY insight on this, that would be great... :( Apparently a relative of mine called and said they called Tech support, and they knew nothing about an outage of sorts, and was trying to walk them through the process of checking cables, restarting the modem, restarting the PC etc.

I also noticed something strange, which I guess since I haven't been on Dialup for a long time, The traceroute over it is extremely messed up too, Way more than what Dialup should be. (This reminds me of the Blaster Worm incedent a few years back.)

Thanks,
Zac

·TekSavvy Solutions..

I'm in Edmonton mines working, but its been sluggish for days (which coincided with me canceling telus tv), so i think maybe the put me onto a bad port.. so I don't think my problem is related.

however i can vouch it might be a little slower then usual but it is working.

edit:
April 29th, @02:26PM

okay, so the problem is localized to southern Alberta... I called one of the telus phone numbers, and they said they had no access to the 'Service Outage/Status Site' or something about that part of their system being down, so I guess its obviously not me...

Yet on my computer on High speed, e-mail is still coming through, but the net is just... Barely working. Right now it seems its starting to work, but as for reliability, I'm not sure how long it will stay like this..

Thank you for your reply though, I really appreciate it! Glad to know things are at least okay up north.

--Edit--
It seems the Internet started coming back around 9:45pm, and was fully up by 10:30. A 6 hour outage. If anyone does know anything about what happened, I'd really like to know.

Take Care!
