mail is back

speedfactory's email servers are accepting the passwords again. Was able to use the webmail to login and check my emails.

I can't remember when's the last time I used ISP e-mail. It seems like a pain especially when switching ISPs. Even cell phones have number portability nowdays; ISP-based e-mails don't.

Can you enlighten me as to what's the value of using ISP e-mail? It seems like a good number of people are still doing that, and I may be missing something here?

Of course this is not an excuse for an ISP not to have its servers up and running properly.

Thanks.

Hmm, posting a question always allows me to come up with some answers myself...

1) Privacy concerns on public web mail.
2) Certain sites won't accept user registrations using public web mail.
3) being able to receive ISP announcements maybe?

That's my main reason.

You can't use PayPal or NetFlixs without it.
