Upgrade - Lexcat

So I just called and ordered the 12 meg package. The lady taking the call was real helpful. At first she stated 12 meg with Greenstreak was unavailable. Soon as I heard this I said well I'll be sticking with my current 6 meg package. She then stated let me double check. 15 seconds later she responded and said Greenstreak with 12 meg is available in your area as the same cost as your current 6 meg Greenstreak package at 44.95 a month. I responded wonderful sign me up! She then said she had to date the order for 3 days so I would have time to upgrade my firmware else "my modem would be dead" unless I could upgrade the firmware by 7 pm. I responded and said I can update it in 10 mins. She said if you can be sure to update it I'll make the change to your account and it should go in effect by tonight. She thanked me for being a windstream customer. So, I have upgraded my modem firmware from 004-D241-A0U to 004-D241-A83. It still currently has me provisioned for 6 meg. Now to wait and see....

Re: So I just ....

Thanks for posting, but your post would be much better suited for the Lexington ADSL2 thread rather than here, we would like to keep this to speed tests for the new 12mb packages and any other info on differences from the old ADSL profiles.

Good luck with your upgrade.. as far as I know, I am the only one on this board that has had it done anywhere in the country, and that's only thanks to a local tech that went the extra mile....

Re: Upgrade - Lexcat

how do you update the firmware on the router and how do you check what firmware you currently have?

Just dropping by to give an update. Well today is May 6th and still rocking out with my 6 meg. This past Friday at around 2pm I had an outage not sure if it was just me or the area but it lasted until Saturday morning around 8 am. I called in on Friday afternoon and reported and the reps stated someone would check their equipment at the CO within 24 hours. I had all lights on my modem and had DSL synch just no pad dial in or response from the carrier. I guess I will continue to wait to see if I actually receive my 12 meg upgrade.
