I have come across a few places where I see lacing coming back into the world now that we are more reliant on high-speed data. That's a quick rundown; there are other styles, but in a nutshell, it involves waxed cotton string; time, and care...
IMO it's worth noting lacing unlike Ty-Wraping not only securely holds the cabling without crushing it also supports the cabling by binding them to each other and the frame which is something a Ty-Rap cannot do.

As lacing requires a learned skill and takes time it has been replaced over the past twenty years or so with the dreaded Ty-Wrap a cable crushing non-supporting flesh slashing method of lashing for dummies.
