said by Mele20 : How then do I get the generic anon profile page if I wanted to block anon posters or if I had blocked them in the past and wanted to unblock in the future? You choose another anonymous poster's name to click on.
See, that screen (the generic anon profile page) is available for every anonymous poster. It is accessed by clicking the anon poster avatar. You choose not to display the avatars, so you remove that choice for yourself. Therefore you have to try clicking anon names to find one who has not entered a notification e-mail address, which will then get you the generic anon profile page. -- Female monkeys often utter loud, distinctive calls before, during or after sex.. |

I get that it is not available any other way. I'll have to do what you said. But I am still puzzled as to why turning off/on anon posting is difficult for those of us who, for whatever reasons, have chosen to not see avatars here. I would have thought there would be a simple way to reach the generic anon posters page that didn't involve avatars. Since blocking for anon posters applies to all anon posters there is no reason to need to reach that page from any specific anon post so seems to me there could be another method of reaching the anon profile or another way than from the anon profile to turn on or off blocking. It is so much nicer here when there are no avatars or other stuff cluttering the author field. -- "The same ferocity that our founders devoted to protect the freedom and independence of the press is now appropriate for our defense of the freedom of the internet.
