Hear this is actually an uper atmoshere ice crystal vs water event, and have heard sever names for it all day.
Anyone know what the proper technical term for this kind of event is?
Unfortunately power lines where I was, thoough supose I could shop them out.

| This is a 22° circumsolar ice halo. Extremely common. The 22° halo can be less commonly seen around the moon, as well.

| Common maybe.... not really EXTREMELY, especiall this far south, and even having grown up in the NE can think of only enough times in 50 so years, can still be counted on fingers.
