| Steam is one of the greatest thing to have happened on the internet. Not because I'm lazy or anything to go the store but I've bought just about every game off Steam.
Last night's TF2 update downloaded in a few minutes. -- Anime / F@H |

Truth be told, its great just for the simple fact I don't have to dig around for lost media or cd keys. |

1 edit | reply to Matt Wow, all these people who say they love Steam could not have been around back in the WON days. Mods and gameplay was better, and way less crashes or issues.
Steam is simply a distribution network to make money, unlike the older ways of simply hosting games for fun gameplay. |

It's a delivery mechanism yes, the point is to make money, but steam itself was in fact free, and I have been around since the WON days. I still prefer the way it is now. |

| reply to Ryno amen to WON IDs. Counter-Strike 1.5 was so much better than the current 1.6 version. the graphics were alot cleaner, there was no mass flooding of the servers by these script kiddies that crash the servers now, and the biggest thing, is that 1.5 had the game tutorial.
if your new to CS now, the only way to learn to play is just go in and get the shit kicked out of you until you learn what not to do. to me, that would be very frustrating. |
