Steam!

Steam has some of the fastest servers I've ever seen, seriously. Their servers, even during peak download hours (like when The Orange Box came out) were still able to max both a T3 and a Verizon FiOS 30mbps connection. I don't know why people say Steam is a load of crap when I've found it to be very useful.

Because it was. I hated steam back when I had a slow computer with 128mb RAM and Steam was using more of it than the game I was playing. Steam today is FAR more reliable and the downloads are much faster than they were.
