My 98 Saturn SL1 gets ~36MPG freeway. She has an 11 Gallon tank so I pay ~ $45 per week. Keep in mind I drive from Rancho to CSUF and back 4 days a week... -- There's so much to be thankful for...How can anyone be sad? |
|
 | That's a big jump between 15 & 25.
The Audi gets 15.2 doing mostly short haul, lead foot driving. |
|

- Aggressive driving (speeding and rapid acceleration and
braking) can lower your gas mileage by as much as 33% at highway speeds and 5% around town. - Observe the speed limit;each 5 miles per hour (mph) you
drive over 60 mph can reduce your fuel economy by 10%.
- Avoid idlingidling gets 0 miles per gallon!

Want to know what bugs the hell out of me? No? Too bad. People who race between red-lights. We both start of at the same green-light, only (the other) asshole speeds to the next red-light where we meet again. | reply to nirvansk815 No, no and no.
I understand how to get better mileage. That's not my objective, it's to have the most fun getting from point A to point B as I can afford (and to get to the next red light before Dan). |

| reply to Nutty Hiker lol I get that all the time...specially all the high school kids coming into Autozone to get oil. I'm just trying to get to work driving down baseline and then they speed past me just to get in front... and then I end up helping the same kids at the checkout lane... -- There's so much to be thankful for...How can anyone be sad? |

But put me on a late night/early morning freeway with light traffic and I turn into an animal.... an animal I tell you, simply an animal. |

| reply to nirvansk815 Wrong. Boring is driving like the gas is over $4 a gallon. I don't have a boat, though. They waste too much gas. In fact, I would dearly love to see restrictions placed on the frivolous consumption of gasoline in RVs, boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, sand rails, dirt bikes and all of the rest of it. Never going to happen, though. Too many vested interests. |
