yes, more people on the "pipes" = higher latency, slower download speeds, and in worse case sync loss. i know because i experienced all three a week for months. was due to embarqs admitted overselling of my area with the ETA blank for fixing on the problem ticket, last time i checked. Now i just use my shitty connection in peace, leaving embarq alone. nothing ever truly fixed the problem
