| the only thing I'm having difficulty with the coin return theory is that there's no real "lip" to it. Normally there's a lip or hinge of some kind if they're talk like that. This one looks a lot like the spout on a teapot or percolator style coffee pot. |

For the size of the scratches seen, the perimeter of the opening does seem to have very thin walls. |
