Via telnet go to menu 24 then menu option 8, then you get the cli mode and can type the commands.
But do you know what speed and duplex your modem is running? If so you can try to get the G2000 match that at first.

1 edit | Thanks for the CLI tip - I musta been asleep at the wheel to miss it.
I have since done additional testing. The slowdown seems to occur on any PC that uses a Linksys LNE100TX wired ethernet NIC. When I use my laptop on the wireless and wired side of the router, speeds are normal. That leads me to believe that it's a compatibility or parameter matching issue between the Linksys NIC and the G2000+'s LAN enet port.
The Linksys NIC has no configuration settings except 10/100 and half/full duplex. I've tried all combinations (10 HDx and FDx, 100 HDx and FDx) without success, so it appears changing the MTU is the best hope right now.
I'm now hunting for a CLI reference for the G2000+ so I can tweak the LAN side enet port's MTU settings. Don't want to blindly guess and make my G2000 a paperweight!
As always, the folks here are most helpful. I will still see if I can get RR to trade me an upgraded modem though.
EDIT - anyone have a link to the CLI reference for the G2000+ ? I can't find one on the ZyXel site. the ZYWALLs have different commands.

| Based on your suggestion, just looked in my ZyXel G2000+ firmware downloads and there it is, the CLI summary in the G-2000 Plus_3.60(HU4) zip file ( filename 360HU4CO.RTF )
There's also a ZYNOS FAQ.HTM in the G-2000 Plus_sn_360.ZIP support notes ZIP file that looks like it can help to educate me.
Now it's time for me to read up (and back up the config!).
Thanks for the help and sorry for the dumb questions, my own researching method has not been very good at finding stuff. -- Mayors of New York come from nowhere and go nowhere. Wallace Sayre (apparently, so do governors... ) |
