After they are both on or both off just make sure you press the "CBL" button and you're back on track.

It seems, at least to me, there is a 1 sec delay between the cable box turning on and then the TV, when I hit the power button. I have mine set up to turn on the cable box and TV together at once by hitting the red power button. However, half the time it only turns on the box or TV alone. Then once I try and turn on the other device, it turns off the opposite one, then I have to keep going back and forth until I get them both to work.
