One might make the claim that thirty seconds of every day spent on the Internet is thirty seconds of time wasted. OTOH, one might also realize that one can search the Internet without going near Yahoo!, or even Google, and add interesting sites to their bookmarks. I've been online in one way, or another, since 1986. I've been surfing the Internet, proper, since mid-1999. I have accumulated a lot of URLs, some of which even still work, in the last eight years. Then what is your beef? Well, it sho'ly, sho'ly couldn't be with SlothWestern Bull. 
It's a package. The ads say you get DSL, mailboxes, etc. I pay "ATT": they are responsible for "service". If ATT sources services that I pay ATT for to derelicts, then I color ATT derelict. Simple as that.
I think ATT has an obligation to its paying customers to make relevant info available to them, and not to hide it under direction of Garbage-Marketers.
If you disagree with this position, that's your business (not mine).
Well, then we disagree. AFAIAC, I am paying for TCP/IP transport to the Internet. I will find my own content, thank you.
Or should I put more trust in AT&T content because they are my transport provider than, say, Google, MSN, or Yahoo!?
