haplo2112 : For nearly 95% of the town there is only one Broadband provider Charter Cable. There is no competition from Verizon DSL since nearly all of the town's residents are out of the DSL service area.

Lies DAMN lies.

On the whole Charter treats us like an ugly red headed step child on top of that so the whole situation sucks. The town government doesn't help as they do nothing to try to encourage a fix to the problem. The Cable contract is being re-done currently in there is NOTHING in there about improving service. In case anyone from the town reads here is a hit; local access is a lark, stop basing negotiations on it and work for improving and enhancing services.
