Re: Outage in central NC?

I live in Hickory, and mine is out. I called, and they are having another outage. This makes three outages that have affected me since last Saturday. This is such a pain in the ass.

NCFLYING

@skybest.com

i don't care what they say about the "fiber cut" - How many damn times can they use this excuse. Am I right that Embarq's whole network rides over one piece of fiber? I have been on Embarq for 18 months in the Chapel Hill area and I have had 14 outages. This is the second area wide outage. Tons of businesses now use DSL lines and credit card machines over IP. Please, if anyone can bring competition to these Embarq monopoly areas... do it. I am sure you could take 50% of embarq's business from customers like me who deal with excuse after excuse for outages.

moan complain

@embarqhsd.net

So it's Embarq fault some ding-a-ling takes a back hoe, fails to call underground locates (a willful violation of state law) and proceeds to cut the fiber optic cable. Give me a break,

I'm tired of hearing people whine about this company and that company. Who's going to come in and over build Embarq, no one, the state will not let them. Have a CLEC come in, Embarq still owns the copper and fiber, so even if you're buying dial tone from somebody else the stuff is getting there because of Embarq

I can't believe people now days. If you've got a business and IP services are so important then pay the money for a service thats monitored. Quit being cheap. And shame on Embarq for selling you a cheap service for something so friggin critical.
