My speed drops to 3 meg after a month or so , but then if I
power down the modem it comes back up to 5.3 Meg

join:2008-05-09		 DSL line speeds degrade over time, it also depends if your copper pair is in good condition and how long the bridge tap is that could be causing signal loss.
