Re: DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Lakewood, CO + some other areas

Well, just wait and see. Normally the 16/2 is $89/month and the 22/5 (when launched on D3) will be $99/month. Most likely you will need a D3 modem as 22/5 is a lot of strain on a single cable channel.

Yeah I know I'm going to have to do a modem switch out. I got the SMC modem still.

Thanks for the info! I just wish the sales people at Comcast were this educated:)

DOCSIS 3.0 Available in Powder Springs, GA

I figured at some point geek would move my thread

I have D3 here in Powder Springs GA. Picked up my 6120 today and the receive light is blue and sustained downloads are around 2.9 - 3.0 MB/s.

Re: Let's keep all DOCSIS 3.0 Discussion in this thread, please

Hey thanks for this link. I have seen this link on the Docsis 3 availability thread but always ignored it cuz it said "UCID and Cal" which in my mind I interpreted as something to do with UC Berkeley, which we commonly refer to as "Cal". So seeing "UC" and "Cal" in the same tag just made me ignore it since I figured it had nothing to do with me. Can someone update that title so it's less confusing?!

I'd say give them a call to see if it's here - and make sure you're talking to someone local (either N.E. Philly call center or New Castle). I read that it was mentioned in yesterday's inquirer, but I haven't asked if any CAEs can process a D3 order.

I'll check tomorrow if no one does tonight and see what else I find.
I spoke with someone in New Castle last night. He said that the new D3 speeds are not yet available in my area and I should check the Comcast webpage to see when it is available. He didn't seem that knowledgeable, so I would be interested to see if you have a different experience.

Wow! Your bonded on 4 channels and have 64QAM? You probably have some nice speeds, right?

So for now I'm stuck on 6/1 residential - That must be Comcast's fallback when nothing is working...
maybe if Comcast can get some faster speeds out to him

Theoretically, when they get his connection working correctly it should test something close to mine:

We aren't that far from each other, so it should be pretty close, they are just having a hard time getting his SB6120 running correctly.

Any word on Denver itself? I'm out at 6th and Downing. Considering purchasing a D3 modem, but will only do so if we have D3 out here.

That's what they said about the Detroit area long ago, still NOT.

maybe they need to "secure" the area so no one steals the equipment and stuff. hehe jk

Hi,

Anyone in Atlanta using 50/10 tier? Any inputs? I saw that it is $ 99.00 a month now. I am at 22/5 and thinking to pay the extra +$30.00 a month.

Thanks.

Hi, how do I tell if I need a DOCSIS modem, will Comcast notify us. I'm in the Toms River area and according to some post I read on here I have it in my area. I believe I have Comcast with blast, on speed tests I get 13.16 down and 5.96 up I have a SB5120 modem. thanks

I'm going to PM you what I know so far...I don't want to mention it in public other than Comcast strikes me as making this more sketchy than it needs to be, but that is because I am still in the dark about a few things. So check your PMs.

Yea, I wonder when it will happen. Maybe 10 years from now.
