I can hit 120Mbit+ easy and I peaked out at 135Mbit for a brief time

said by Goober :Well, real life results show that there are varying levels of powerboost on the extreme tier. I'd rather rely on actual observation than some theoretical/philosophical assertion. Maybe Comcast decided that I'm particularly special and decided to make an exception just for me. Here's the thread showing my netmeter graphs. It still happens to this day. » Re: Let's keep all DOCSIS 3.0 Discussion in this thread, pleaseIf not powerboost, then what is it? Interesting graphs.... My install is now next Wednesday instead of tomorrow (Grr....). Only upside of that is that I'm actually off next Wednesday so I won't need to get out of work to meet the installer. Can't wait! |

| reply to sortofageek DOCSIS 3.0 & eMTA modems available?
I currently have an SB6120 Docsis 3 modem plus a separate eMTA for CDV. Are there any combo modems out there yet that are supported by Comcast? I understand that this would have to be something rented from them, since they don't allow user-owned eMTAs. |

You're going to love it.
My old cable provider (WOW) screwed things up, which caused my install to get delayed by a week. I thought I was going to lose my mind. |

There are combo units out there and have been for a short little while at least. Your area may or may not have them though, so you'd need to ask. |

Don't hold your breathe. I've been on the phone with them for 45 mins today and now they're telling me the 22/5 tier isn't available till December 16th in Fresno/Clovis.
I had 2 calls to CS trying to get the new modem/tier and both stated a "bug" in the system wasn't allowing them to schedule truck rolls.
Later that night I did a Live Chat via the website and had little issue, scheduling a tech to come out Sat. Nov 7th between 9am-12pm.
I called today to confirm and the rep stated there is no appointment scheduled. After back and forth and much hold time they're telling me it isn't available till December. WTF?!
*update* What it looks like has happened is they have bumped up everyones speeds to DOCSIS 3.0 tiers but are not offering the Ultra/Extreme tiers till mid December. Boo. |

@comcast.net | i heard Sacramento was not getting it until December>... but on the site it does how ever have performance as 12 megs... and i was told when that happens its a sign of doc 3 coming out soon?? i don't know |

Is the verdict still out on whether or not packet bonding will affect gaming or not?
I believe some of the gamers were wanting the 22/5 file pushed to their D2's for unbonded gaming packets with the higher UL.
Would be nice to see a 37/10 tier. DL stats are just an oooh, ahhh for me |

| As far as gaming goes I haven't really seen any difference in ping times going up to the SB6120 with bonded channels than I did with my SB5100. -- Duct tape is like The Force it has a light side and a dark side, and it binds the Universe together |

| Right, but you still have acknowledgment packets coming in from your upstream TCP packets, and you have the data coming in from the server about all the other players as well.
I was just simply stating I haven't seen any noticeable change when using downstream channel bonding. I will however be very interested when they implement upstream channel bonding if it has any significant change on latency, only time will tell... (And I hope they hurry up as I want some more upstream, 10mbps isn't enough ) -- Duct tape is like The Force it has a light side and a dark side, and it binds the Universe together |

| reply to hussle87 Yes in a sense you are correct. Once the CMTS goes D3 the 12M and 16M subs can be load balanced into any of the four channels dedicated to D3.
This results in fewer people sharing the same channel/bandwidth and should bring greater consistency to the performance of all tiers.
Congestion is still a potential problem but it is much less likely. |

said by d1gw33d :Correct except I pay more than the lower tier customers... It's not like I was getting Blast for free. 6/1 and 8/2 customers get upgraded with no cost increase. Oh and thanks for the powerboost translation. I was wondering what the powerboost speeds are... For some reason 3 different techs' aren't able to schedule truck rolls... the "system" is telling them my market only has 50/10 and no 22/5. Sigh. This is the hardest I've had to try to get a company to take more money from me... *update* Well no one at Comcast was able to schedule a truck to come out due to an "error in the system" and I was told to call back tomorrow... Has anyone in the Fresno/Clovis area gotten a D3 modem yet?! If so how? *update 2* Contacted comcast by "live chat" and that rep was able to schedule a truck roll for this weekend. $20/month increase over my current Blast! tier plus $5/month modem lease fee though I was able to get that waived in addition to the $24.95 install fee. It should be $10 more than you pay now. These are the prices with one other product.
42.95(Performance 6 or 12) 52.95(Performance Plus or Blast) - Blast (D3 areas with pre d3 upgrades) 62.95(Blast or Ultra) - Ultra only in D3 99.95 Extreme |

Comcast finally sent me the mail informing me that DOCSIS 3 is now available on the Eastern Shore of MD. They have been testing for a while and I have been channel bonding since I hooked up a new Motorola SB6120.
I gave them a call and managed to get the Extreme 50/10 plan for just $49 a month for 12 months
That's less than I was paying for the 16/2 plan. |

The only CHSI promo I'm seeing in the Beltway Region is $30/month for twelve months for Blast. (Yes; both Ultra and Extreme 50 are available in parts, but not all, of the Beltway Region.) |
