| Generator Recommendation I'm looking for a generator for work to power a bunch of TV equipment in the field. Probably looking at 1500-2000 watts. Would like something that can be easily moved by 2 people, is quiet, and most important, is consistent with the power output. Fluctuations and hiccups are not friendly to TV equipment.

Do you mean to keep at least 50-60% capacity, or no more than 50-60% capacity?

It is saying that some devices and generators can be mis-matched and result in unsatisfactory operation.
The two need to be matched correctly. A true on-line UPS will usually work better than a transfer-type but regardless, the devices must be matched and tested if used in a crucial application.

| the honda gen's are nice, but you can get a cheap (inexpensive) gen set in the 3000-3500 watt range for $300-$400 at some auto parts stores, i.e., kragen, autozone, etc. they are a little noisier than the hondas but the one I use has powered my toyhauler out in he desert for 2 seasons now. and it starts on he 1st pull. | |
