Is there really any difference or advantage of using one home page over another,?

any advantage to switching home page say to Google or MSN, or ??

| I used to have it start with a blank page, but since using Firefox I just leave it at the default google search page. Since it loads fast it doesn't really keep me from doing things.
Back with IE and MSN I had to change it since the MSN page took so long to load. |

It really comes down to personal preference. I open up to Google News; it gives me a quick view of whats going on in the world.

SlimBrowser is set to Yahoo so I can see if anyone has sent me any email.
Yeah, I use two browsers... sometimes even at the same time.

The main advantage of using "about:blank" is that the browser loads more rapidly, particularly when there are network problems. |

I set it to blank - about:blank. A throwback to dialup days.
I use Firefox and use the "Morning Coffee" extension. It is configured with a number of sites I may want to see first thing in the AM or later in the day.

Well with FF I have two "home" pages; DSLR and WTAM (a local news station), on IE, I have CNN as my home page.
I used to have my personal web-page as my home page but don't really do anything with that any more, it has been "under construction" for years now.

oh ok, many good replies, but guess it comes down to as Viet Vet said "personal choice", i may try google or another, home page with news on it, but I don't TRUST msn,(these are just my personal choice,I feel msn/at&t home pages have "spies' or "snoopers" in them) I use IE Browsers & F.F.(preference is F.F.)
and no special reason for yahoo.just started with it when started with Win98se. |
