the 2wire is betor than the speedstream modem. if your gonna buy used I would get a 3346 or a 3347 if you need wireless on the modem.
Explanition.

Speedstream just a dumb modem.

2wire is a modem router combo. It has its faults but if you lock it down etc.. will be a good modem/router.

Netopia 3346 3347 is a full blown modem/router combo. with alot of Security and fetures.
