My last TV went in 1992, the year between my 1st and 2nd child. Of my 5, the youngest two are 6yo and all five have largely grown up in an advertising free home.
We do download some selected tv shows. via bittorrent. Those are mostly overseas ones that aren't available for purchase locally. When they are available; we buy the DVDs.
We have our coupons and plan to buy a box one day. If for no other reason to have the equip on hand if I ever find a need for one. I may not use it for exactly the intended purpose...
