The guys at at&t told me that we weren't going to merge over to at&t e-mail addresses, ever. Just like they've kept their other networks.
Also, I tested the »www5.bellsouth.net information you posted. When you try to add a e-mail address, it just adds another bellsouth.net account. |

FWIW, the old, legacy SBC domains are not being retired, and customers using them (I am still 'pacbell.net') won't be forced to give them up. But, currently, new 'at&t Yahoo! HSI' customers are assigned 'sbcglobal.net' accounts, unless they choose a path, in the account activation process, which takes them to 'att.net'.
As for the former Bellsouth region; until that is merged into the 'at&t Yahoo! HSI' system, I suspect that 'bellsouth.net' will remain in effect on new account signups.
I don't know when, or even if, that is going to happen. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
