Give Comcast a reality check!

WiMax?!?!

Comcast can't manage their HSI network effectively and now they want to screw up WiMax?

Seriously, Comcast doesn't have the resources available to make Docsis 3.0 available to the totality of their HSI network, unless it is in an area that Verizon is deploying FIOS. Frankly, Comcast cannot verify today that each subscriber's HSI performance meets Comcast's specifications.

So, Comcast wants WiMax? OK, cool for those in areas with enough user concentration that WiMax will work, but what about the rest of their HSI network subscribers that have been paying Comcast's bills for years? What do we get out of WiMax?

Likely, nothing. Frankly, Comcast seems to be having trouble managing their HSI networks and that gives me no confidence that Comcast can do anything decent with WiMax.

Comcast is burdened with HSI/HDTV systems with no capacity to meet today's needs. What our bills contributing to Comcast's bottom line are paying for is Comcast's supplying state of the art HSI/HDTV and now wireless to those selected areas that can pay the freight, and those areas are where Verizon is laying down FIOS.

The balance of Comcast subscribers are paying for Comcast to install state of the art services in selected wealthy areas only. None of the vast majority of Comcast's HSI/HDTV subscribers will EVER see much significant advancement in service levels or capabilities, yet we are paying for WiMax for limited areas that can pay the bills.

Let Comcast deny my statements. They cannot do it. Comcast cannot even prove to a third party that my subscription level can be met every second that I use it.
