If you're getting 2.2 down already, you're not going to get much more at a 3.0-provisioned line because of the usual overhead. A VZ-provisioned 3.0 DSL line would probably deliver somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.6-ish (down) for someone within acceptable range of the CO.

For example, I am provisioned at 3.3 down, live slightly less than a mile from the CO, and regularly get about 2.9 down.
