[ Ultra/Lite] Poll/Petition Rogers to upgrade Lite & Ultra Lite

A few months ago all cable services download speeds were upgraded, except for Lite and UL users. Can we get enough customers here to push Rogers to upgrading the rest of us?

Why would Rogers raise the speeds on Lite users? If you want faster speeds get the next level of service.

I'm sure these were raised fairly recently to 512 and 1024 kbps.

Yes, these were definitely upgraded recently. My Ultra Lite doubled in both upload and download speeds.

Because they upgraded everyone else for free, EXCEPT the Lite users.

Hmmm.... For free? Let me see. Ultra-lite was 21.95 when I signed up. After that "free upgrade" it is now 24.95

When Lite was and is 32.95 for people that signed up before Jan 15, 2008. For those who signed up later it is 34.95.

So my point is that that upgrade is not free in any way.

Knowing rogers I would not ask them for any so-called upgrades because all of them seem more like downgrades to me (I am looking at the caps). I would prefer 256k service with the old cap, or at least 10Gig cap.

The increases in speed for extreme certainly haven't been without cost ... 3 increases in about 18 months isn't free.

I'm speaking strictly on download speeds, not about usage capacities.

Only new customers getting ultralight end up with the tiny 2 GB/month cap, existing customers before the change still have a 60 GB/month cap.

I am now paying $23.95+tax so $25.15 total for 512kpbs with a 60gb cap per month. I paid the $99.95+tax for the modem to save the currently $2/month modem rental fee on the assumption I will use it for a long time and they will probably increase the modem rental fee over time.

The difference between new/old customer's usage caps for light and ultralight is detailed here at this link along with caps for the other service tiers: »www.rogers.com/web/content/inter···et_usage

One catch mentioned elsewhere is caps on overage fees for new light/ultralight customers that don't apply to existing customers. So woe to any old light user that brings down say 100gb in a month and gets hit with $200 in overage fees.

I intended this thread to stay about download speeds, not the bandwidth cap, hence my previous post.

If you want a faster speed, then upgrade to one, dont expect the world for free.

These companies aren't here to please you, and its blantly obvious of that. They are here to make money.
