DocLarge : You'd be better off asking this question in the cisco forum because setup is your major issue before even getting to vpn configuration. But since you've asked...

What is your level of experience configuring Cisco?

Here are a few starter questions:

1) Are you using cable or xDSL?
2) Do you have an ip address on the WAN port?
3) Do you know how to check to see if you are getting an IP?
4) Do you know how to configure Cisco IOS?

If you have nevered configured Cisco IOS (no other way to put it) this will be "arduous" unless you use the "security device manager" (SDM Gui interface) which makes it easier to follow for people new to Cisco (good move on Cisco's part).

These are the basic questions that need to be answered prior to offering any answers so we know exactly where you are in this adventure :)

Jay

anon :
quote:
The 1841 router came equipped with 1 dsu/csu t1 v2 port which I would like to use to connect to one of the netgear wireless port

Is there a typo or error in this sentence? A t1 port is a serial port meeting specific signal characteristics and is wired to the line providing T1 service. A wireless port is just that - wireless. You need to connect one of the FastEthernet ports on the 1841 to an ethernet port on the switch built into the Netgear. Or add a wireless card to the 1841.

You also mention you have an ASA. Where do you want to use that? It sounds like you wish to use the netgear to access the Internet. Could you include a diagram showing exactly what you want to do?
