You will need to post a little more information about what is going on (your wireless router, wireless card in your PC, wireless internet settings, etc.) so that we can effectively help you.

Need more info about your problem?
Can you connect to your LAN?

You're telling us here you can't connect to your WAN?
1. Encryption password or mode for security WEP/WPA/WPA2?
2. Wireless Router not connect to the WAN to Modem WAN?
3. Modem is down or internet is down?

Come on guys... if you had more information it wouldn't be much of a puzzle.

Do you buy crossword puzzles with the answers in the back?

I don't buy crosswords puzzles so I can't answer your question about that.. Do you have answer to the user question?

Sorry, it was meant to be facetious. Like the old computers back in the 60's would say, "Insufficient data, does not compute".

My guess however, is that the wireless is disabled in the BIOS, by a switch, or by a key sequence.

Okay... Disabled BIOS for internal wireless could be so but I am sure the new owners of Thinkpads must be smart to figure out that one. Unless this person works for a company where their security policy has wireless disabled.

I wouldn't give them that much credit. I run a wireless hotspot (not open) and have more than 75 users subscribed and I've run into several that did not know how to turn on their wireless. Now supposedly these guys are traveling tech reps, not your holiday traveler that left their brain at home.

Hell, I've come across some laptops that had wireless disabled in all three places, BIOS, hardware switch, and keyboard fn key. Now throw Vista's security into the mix and it is a surprise if anyone without a computer science degree can get it to work.
