| should leave my connection interleaved or switch to fastpath
I can't decide on whether I want to leave my connection interleaved or switch to fastpath? I do a lot of gaming and the low pings would be great, but I don't want to have an unstable connection. I'm posting my stats, and if anyone could give me feedback about them I would be greatly appreciative!
Thanks, Ryan

| Go to FastPath. Believe me, it really makes a difference, and with that line, you will have no problems getting a stable line out of that, as your margin is well in the 20's. When it's near 10, that's when you want to watch out, but FastPath will only drop the margin by 1 or 2 dB. So go ahead and ask for it. |

| reply to listonr12 My connection is already pretty good, do you think I'll notice a difference if I request fastpath at this point?
I'm paying for 3000/768 Speed on a Dry Loop aDLS service and I'm less than a Mile away from my Central Office.

| Your ping is very nice for being on interleaved, but go ahead and request FastPath. Your stats are in the 20's as well, so you have loads of room for variances, as FastPath as I've stated only lowers the margin by 1dB really.
And yes, you will notice a difference with the connection. Faster browsing and better gaming, maybe a bit more throughput as well. |

| Just log into your modem. If you have a Westell, the IP should be 192.168.1.1 . If you have one of the newer Verizon branded modems or one of the slim ones, I'm not familiar with them too much but you can certainly find info for them.
Once you're in the modem, find the DSL Transceiver Stats and post them up. They'll be under a status or Diagnostics category in the nav. |

| Close to marginal. A margin of 9.5 and FastPath will leave very little room for change. A margin of 6db is usually where DSL starts to crap out. I wouldn't go for it unless you want to reduce the speed of the line (throughput) or risk a disconect. |

| Yes. You'll be fine with that line, so go ahead an order it. FastPath, the term of it and what it does may scare some people, but really, just as long as your margin doesn't get from 6 and below, you're good to go. You're pretty high and don't have much distance to the CO, so FastPath all the way anyways. |
