Re: [Rant] Legalities of ISP packet sniffing

Of course it's illegal, it's right there in the communications act, and highly unethical but when it comes to the internet in this country there seems to be very little consumer protection and privacy laws and the Rogers and Bells are are foaming at the mouth and fully taking advantage of this and are abusing the Canadian owned telecommunications spectrum way beyond what is acceptable.

The government on this issue looks like a bunch of deer caught in the headlights and have no clue what to do or even what's going on.

Yea the CRTC are apparently involved but they're still figuring out the impact of the rotary dial and DOS 3.1

As to why there is not an immediate outcry from the Privy Council Office, the Justice department, the Communications, department or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for that matter on this issue is very troubling.

No it's not look at the government we have? They muzzle everything, so in the name of big business, they'll allow Bell and Robbers to get away with murder
