| Speed problems in Boca Raton...
My speeds are all whack...from Miami I get this (which is my normal speed)...

from NY, I get this...

from NJ, I get this...

Some pages load fine, and others load very slow. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on with the network? |

| reply to Poolside It looks like something is def. fishy. I'm seeing this as well and it seems to be happening sometime in the evening - after 4 or 5pm.
The good news is that it's not me - the bad news is that it seems to be regional. If people all the way from Miami to WPB are having issues.
I posted in another thread about this. Here are my line tests as well. Similarly to Poolside, speedtesting on different servers yields different results. Speakeasy and Ookla show me more truthful results regarding my actual surfing and downloading/connection speeds. Bellsouth and DSL Reports Miami test show me between 3 and 4Mb when the connection is bad.
This is in the evening when things get bad, generally around 4 or 5pm and lasting all night: »/linequality/nil/2381137
This is when things are 'normal' with my connection, generally in the daytime: »/linequality/nil/2381360 |

But get ready for who knows what......Windows XP SP3 is now available via Windows Update. And if enough try that all at once, there will be problems. |

| reply to Poolside I live just north of Panama City. Below are results I just got:
Miami...

NJ...

NYC...

SF...

I did get an extremely slow result to NJ the first time, but when I retested, I got the one I posted.
I test line quality frequently using various sites, and have observed, especially since December, a significant decline in the quality of the web. Ping results on Doctor Ping have risen by approximately 10ms on average, and pauses have gotten longer. Some of the blame rests on AT&T, but most of it is due to increased traffic to YouTube, BitTorrent, etc. Also, hopping to another network, such as happens to the NJ test server, introduces a potential jam into the test. |
