Manuals for Equipment (?) and a Question

On the 25th of April, U-Verse was installed here. The installer was more concerned about getting back to his first installation of the day than helping me get it working right. He bragged about doing two installs a day while most others only did one.

When he left, I didn't have internet working on my system (trying to use my own router with the RG - finally dawned on me about using different subnets). He also didn't leave any HDMI cables - he said he ran out of them. He didn't leave any manuals, nor did he show me how to do anything with anything.

Should he have left one HDMI cable (my HD TV accepts one) and any manuals?

I've had two outages in these ten days. One lasted a couple of hours and one lasted 13 hours. The service tech here today said my line was bad and had a line tech help him. They changed the routing to a good line, which made my distance from the VRAD (right term?) go from 2,414' to over 3,000'. Because of that, they took the signal splitter off my line and put the U-Verse on it's own line and my telephone service on it's own line. Will this come back to haunt? It seems like I'm getting two line for the price of one.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Our tech left manuals for the STBs, but they don't help much because they were just general hardware guides, they don't really explain much as far as software or usability. He also left a manual for the remote, which came in handy. All of the paper manuals and more can be found on these three sites: »helpme.att.net/results.php?all=0···gory=360, »helpme.att.net/results.php?all=0···gory=444, and »helpme.att.net/results.php?all=0···gory=446.

The general »helpme.att.net site is available as well.

You might also find the U-verse Support Page useful.

When I called to ask for the various brochures and other things the installer failed to leave, they politely directed me to that page.

They didn't take it well when I pointed out that I'll have to print them (nice way to shift the cost there at&t) since the goof that installed my service put most of the devices someplace else rather than in my office where most all my reference, manuals and computer live and DSL had been in the past. They acted like I was picking on them or something.

EDIT TO ADD: Ooops, seems you'll have to be logged into your u-verse account to follow my link. Might as well do that since referring to that page seems to be the default solution.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I was really looking for a user manual for the RG, among other things. I ended up finding one (at least one that's pretty close to the RG I have) at the 2Wire site. The other guides pointed to are helpful.

Now to see how long it'll be before my next outage. I hope it's a long time!
Again, thanks.

Quantity not quality I guess.
