That's insane!

okay, say they plant one of those little metal cat-carriers in someone's front yard. Say that the person is a frail elderly man, and he trips over the carrier and breaks his hip. Comcast will pay for:

the broken hip

his pain and suffering

invasion of the man's private property

RIGHT?!

also, the elderly man would have a lawsuit against the Comcast company, and he'd probably win, too... i'm hoping.

...........

Why can't Comcast just put these little safety hazards in the middle of the sidewalk, like at&t does? It'd be a lot better - green contrasted with the paste-white sidewalk - especially when compared with having a green, metal box installed in my front LAWN (also green), being a GIGANTIC safety hazard, and I'd also be so angry that they wouldn't hear the end of it, even after they removed the box.

What are those boxes for, anyhow?

In my area (relatively near Santa Rosa; hoping I won't get those soon also), we have sets of (2) metal boxes (averaging the size of those green comcast boxes) that have some company name on them - installed up on the telephone poles - as well as slim, silver boxes installed on practically every pole where the 2 large, grey, metal boxes aren't installed (about 1 every square block - maybe more often).

Some of the lines (cable, phone, electricity) are underground in our area, and I haven't seen any of those tiny green Comcast cabinets, although, on the other hand, i've seen one at&t DSL file-cabinet bolted to the sidewalk nearby.

"how lovely!"
